HOMILY FOR THE SOLEMNITY OF CHRIST THE KING.

REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF 11TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME.

THEME: STORING UP TREASURES IN HEAVEN.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ.

2. Mt 6: 19 – 23.

Jesus warns me against the acquisition of earthly treasures and valuables. Do I know that these riches are all perishable, and can be stolen and devalued by economic crises? Do I treat my family as a treasure through my positive lifestyle that can ensure and sustain heavenly values like peace, joy and love? Do I have investments such as prayerfulness and good deeds stocked in my heavenly wardrobe?

WELET US PRAY
Dear Jesus, you are my treasure and great asset. Help me to create spiritual wealth through depositing virtues in my spiritual bank account. Clear the darkness of greed, anger and envy that are distorting my spiritual vision. I need a sound sight and conscience so that I can see with your eyes. Give me joy and blessings that last for eternity. Amen.
