REFLECTION FOR THURSDAY OF 11TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME.

THEME: PRAYING THE LORD’S PRAYER.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ.

Mt 6: 7 – 15.

It is not necessary for me to use lots of words when I pray. The sample given me by Jesus is perfect. It is the pattern of all prayers. It asks for bread for the present, forgiveness for the past, help for the future. Forgiving others is a prerequisite to have my own sins cancelled. I really desire your will to be done in my life by doing only the things that are pleasing to you and accepting without displeasure things that happen which I do not understand. Do I babble in prayer? Are there people I’ve sworn never to forgive? Do I know that God sees me as his beloved child? What is my own personal image of God?

LET US PRAY
My heavenly Father, my Creator, I give you my agenda, my time and my heart. Let your will, not mine, be done. May I imbibe all that you have taught me about real and sincere spirituality. Please answer my prayer for myself, those who need my prayers and those I have promised to pray for. Give me a forgiving heart. Amen.
