*INTRODUCTION*
Good morning dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today we celebrate Thursday of week 17 in Ordinary Time, Year A.

*FROM OUR FIRST READING*
In this morning’s first reading we are told that Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting because of the glory of the Lord that filled the tabernacle inside the tent. In John’s gospel in particular, the glory of the Lord fills the person of Jesus. He is the new Tent of Meeting where God can be encountered. Yet, whereas Moses could not approach the Tent of Meeting, Jesus, the new tabernacle of God, invites all people to approach him. The fundamental calling of Jesus in John’s gospel is ‘Come and see’.

*FROM OUR GOSPEL READING*
Today’s gospel parable compares the kingdom of heaven to the work of fishermen who gather in the fish they caught and then sort out the bad ones from the good ones. And so Jesus says: “Thus it will be at the end of the age; the angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth,”.

*CONCLUSION*
We are all reminded today, that each and every moment that we are the disciples of the Lord, His followers and beloved people, and all of us have been given so many opportunities and chances to seek the Lord, His forgiveness and grace. Each and every one of us have been called to seek the Lord, to find Him and to gain His forgiveness. If we are truly God’s people, then we should not have disobeyed against Him and sinned against Him, and we should not allow the temptations of worldly glory, fame and desires to lead us astray. The Lord has extended to us many chances and opportunities for us to seek Him, again and again, as He reached out to us with love, and He sent unto us His most generous forgiveness, promised unto us through Christ, Our Lord and Saviour. And it is now truly up to us to embrace His love and forgiveness that He has given us most freely and most generously.

May God be with us always, and bless us all through Christ our Lord.
