TUESDAY HOMILY, 3RD WEEK OF LENT / YEAR B
THEME: Forgiveness must be full!
BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor
Dan. 3:25,34-43; Matt. 18:21-35
Come to think of it, can one person wrong us seventy times seven times in a single day? I doubt. Who’s even counting? The moment we begin keeping records of offences, something’s wrong somewhere. We know human nature makes us hold on to offences, as well as foster grudges. But God calls us to a higher form of humanity. He calls us to exhibit our divine nature.

Friends, imagine how selfish and unforgiving we can be to one another. Kidnappers, armed robbers, Yahoo boys and girls, political looters, corrupt officials… Phew! And we all breathe the same free oxygen. Hmmm! God has not placed a price tag on his free gifts, why can’t we try just a little to be more tolerant of one another? Let us learn something from the story of the servant who was initially forgiven, but later condemned for refusing to forgive another. And may we find the needed compassion to forgive those who have wronged us today, Amen.
Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
