REFLECTION FOR THE FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY.
THEME: WHEN THE FAMILY FACES TRIALS.

Mt 2: 13-15, 19-23.
Handling family challenges is no small feat. The Holy Family faced trials and threats from without, but were united within because they loved one another, prayed and listened to the Word of God. Joseph obeyed the instruction he received in his dream. He was responsible for the safety and wellbeing of Jesus and Mary while in Egypt. Today very many families are under siege from all fronts. Attacks on family values is on the rise. Am I like Joseph who is receptive to God’s guidance? Am I doing the specific task God wants me to perform in my family? Am I the cause of lack of communication, understanding and patience in my family? What are my most cherished family values?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, help my family to be united and holy. May I always be considerate of immigrants and strangers in my land. May the elderly ones in the family be respected, loved and cared for. May the young be raised in Christian virtues even as they have to grow up in difficult and unfriendly environment. Amen.
