REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY OF 20TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME.
THEME: DO AS I DO.
BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.
Mt 23: 1- 12.
Teaching others through my example is more effective than through my talks. I need not parade my virtues or blow my own trumpet. Am I comfortable being anonymous about my good deeds? What is my motive when I serve? Desire for exaltation, recognition and glorification? Is my lifestyle worthy of emulation? Am I a person of “do as I do”, or “do as I say”?
RELATED: HOMILY FOR THE 21ST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR A
LET US PRAY
Forgive me Lord for seeking undue attention. Pardon me for blowing my own trumpet, and for wanting others to see me as high and mighty. May I commit no scandal, rather, let me give good example by the way I live. Make me a model of good and decent behaviour. Help me to exercise authority humbly. Help me to be meek, humble and do what I preach. Amen.
