HOMILY: WEDNESDAY OF THE 33RD WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II.
THEME: Do ‘business’ with these talents!
BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)
Rev.4:1-11; Luke 19:11-28
Do you have an awesome voice? Maybe your sermons inspire many? It could even be that you’re very compassionate and kind; or you’re quite hospitable… Take a moment! Why do you think God gave us so many talents? He wants us to do ‘business’ with them and return with profits. Yes! How many have you inspired with your awesome voice? How many souls have you won with your eloquent speech? Do you take the business of winning souls seriously? It’s God’s business, not ours.
Friends, in the first reading, we get a glimpse of the glory of God. The twenty four elders had thrones and wore crowns, but they threw themselves on the ground and worshipped the One who lives for ever and ever. The strange animals with different faces never stopped singing, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God, the Almighty…’ Think about it.

Let’s begin to put those talents to use. We can’t be like the servant who refused to accept he had any talents, and refused to do business. Let’s rather be like the servant who came with ten more, and was given command of ten cities. God is always worthy to be praised. Are you with me?
Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
