Have you heard about Attila the Hun? He was quite a strong and popular Barbarian back in his day. There was even a movie about him. Pope St Leo the Great repelled Barbarian invasion, famously persuading Attila the Hun from marching on Rome. He also prevented Vandals from massacring the population in 455. The saintly man worked hard for the unity of the Church, leaving many writings behind, which gave him the title ‘Doctor of the Church.’ He engaged his smartness in such a way that many people were attracted to Jesus Christ.

Friends, revealing Christ to the world around us means engaging our creativity in such a manner that others are attracted to him too. St Paul broke the jinx in his day, and revealed Christ to the Gentiles by using their own arguments and philosophies. This is very similar to what Pope St Leo the Great did. Just as the children of this world are very smart in engaging with their own kind, so also must the Children of light use their talents to advance God’s Kingdom here on earth. How has your ‘smartness’ helped bring others to Christ? What positive creative way can you employ today to bring others to Jesus Christ?
