DAILY REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY OF THE 7TH WEEK OF EASTER
THEME: FOCUS ON YOUR CALL
BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ
REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY JUNE 4 2022
Jn 21:20-25.
Lord Jesus, you call me to follow you. You also want me to mind my own business, but I really do have some bad human qualities, e.g. the tendency to get jealous and spread false rumour. I like to feel that my relationship with you is very special. Infact, I sometimes tag others as not spiritual when they are not present for devotional exercises. I fail to see that their daily behaviour is Christlike. I ought also to know that the Bible did not record all the doings and sayings of Jesus. Am I jealous of others’ special relationship with Jesus? Is the spiritual success of others a threat to me? Do I spread false and exaggerated news about them? Am I fixated with “Is it in the Bible” mentality?
LET US PRAY
Help me Lord Jesus to understand that all people may have a relationship with you, and that each one is special in and of herself and himself. Rid me of the urge to compare my life to those of others by rationalizing God’s favour on them, and my own level of spirituality. Help me to follow you, and you alone. Help me to appreciate the written Word as well as Church’s teachings and traditions. Amen.
