WEDNESDAY HOMILY FOR 1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR B

HOMILY: 2ND SUNDAY OF EASTER (DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY) YEAR B

WEDNESDAY HOMILY FOR 1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR B

THEME: All to Jesus!

BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)

I Sam.3:1-20; Mark 1:29-39

Jesus Christ must have had such a way with people that they just couldn’t leave him alone. Being a human being with flesh and blood, and having been through temptation himself, he understood what it meant to be truly human, with love and compassion. Why else would he assume mortal flesh if not to free us from the fear of death and atone for our sins? Think about it dear friends. There was nothing Jesus Christ did for himself. He came, lived and died for our sake.

Just as Jesus Christ went into Simon Peter’s house and healed his mother in law, so also he heals us of our many ailments today. Even when the whole town came crowding at the door, he didn’t drive them away, but cured many who were suffering from one disease or another. He prayed and instructed his disciples to come with him all through Galilee, preaching and casting out devils. This is exactly what we are called to do. Like Samuel, we must listen to God and strive to carry out his will. We must stop at nothing until God’s kingdom is manifested through us to the ends of the earth. Are you with me?

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
