REFLECTION FOR THE FEAST OF THE VISITATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY.

THEME: JOYFUL MEETING – GOD’S PRAISE.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

Lk 1: 39 – 56.

When Mary visited her cousin, she teaches me to help others who need spiritual, emotional and moral support. They both show me the joy of listening to each other and celebrating the success story of others. Mary did not use false humility to debunk Elizabeth’s praise of her, rather, she honoured God for the greatness given to her. Her song of joy focuses on the praise of God. When last did I visit the lonely and sick elders? Do I joyfully sing of God’s goodness for my past, present and future?

LET US PRAY
Dear Jesus, may my presence, the things I do, and say, to those who visit me, or those I visit, bring joy, not sorrow. Take away from me false humility which makes me to object when others sincerely praise me. Teach me Lord to praise you and rejoice for all the good things I enjoy: air, water, food, shelter, clothing, shoes etc. May you always be praised. Amen.
