REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK OF LENT. (1)

REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK OF LENT.

THEME: BE RECONCILED.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

Mt 5: 20-26.

In so far as I am adamant about making peace with those who hurt me, I will remain their slave, since memories and sight of them will always make me feel pain and anger. To have inner peace and to be at peace with God I must reconcile with that close friend or family member who hurt me or who I hurt. This type of self-giving is very difficult, is it not? Do I lack the courage to take the first step to settle my differences with the other persons?

LET US PRAY
Dear Jesus, genuine self-denial and righteousness that shun anger and insult, but embrace peaceful and amicable reconciliation is what you want of me. You want it more than my offering of money or any of my possession. Lord Jesus, grant me the humility that seeks for reconciliation. Give me your grace to go against my quarrelsome human nature, to your sweet forgiving divine nature. Amen.
