Daily reflection for Friday of the 4th Week of Lent

Theme: THE JEWS SEEK TO KILL JESUS

By: Sr. J. K. Osiyemi EHJ

Reflection for Friday April 1 2022

Jn 7:1-2, 10, 25 – 30.

The Jews wanted to do away with Jesus but were unable because it was not yet his time. Jesus was self aware and assertive. He knows when to avoid his detractors. Do I also do away with Jesus and reject Him by my stubborn behaviour? Who are those I’ve attempted to ‘kill’ by spreading falsehood about them? Have I ever suffered rejection and persecution because of my faith and goodness? Am I avoiding sin during this season of Lent as advised by the Church? Or am I willingly exposing myself to be infected by vices?

LET US PRAY.
Help me Lord Jesus not to back off from you because of cowardice. Forgive me for seeking to bring down those who don’t agree with me. Give me courage and wisdom to talk freely about you anywhere, anytime, anyday. Give me the grace to know my true and real self, and to know the divine power you have given me. Amen.
