DAILY REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF THE 21ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME CYCLE II

THEME: WISE AND FOOLISH VIRGINS

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ

REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY AUGUST 26 2022

Mt 25: 1 – 23.

Preparedness and watchfulness are needed if I want to meet the Lord face to face. Jesus has given me enough oil to keep my lamp burning till he comes. How have I used my oil of charity and oil of prayer? Am I concerned about the affairs of the poor and needy? Am I ready today if the Lord comes knocking? Do I realize that procrastination is against the ethics of wisdom?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, give me the grace to be readily available for your coming. I desire to be like the wise virgins. Give me foresight as I plan my daily life. Teach me to always remember that procrastination is the strategy of the evil one. Let me ever be ready to welcome you as I keep my lamp burning with the oil of goodness and oil of perseverance. Save me from the error of ‘There’s still time’ syndrome. May I never be found wanting in virtues. May I be humble and wise in all I do. Amen.
