DAILY HOMILY FOR WEDNESDAY OF THE 34TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II. (2)

DAILY HOMILY FOR WEDNESDAY OF THE 34TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II.

THEME: Your opportunity to bear witness!

BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)

Rev.15:1-4; Luke 21:12-19

Do we realise that the situations we often complain about are opportunities to bear witness to Christ? Your boss is unkind and uncharitable; show him/her that you’re a Christian by not returning the ‘favour’. Your colleagues keep pressuring you to take a bribe or falsify account figures; glorify God by refusing. Your family is against you for refusing to marry two wives; tell them you believe in the sanctity of marriage… Each of these difficult situations are moments to put faith in to practice.

Friends, there’s so much to thank God for. We must learn not to focus on every seemingly negative situation in our lives. The positive sides to life are endless when we train our minds to focus on them. Think about the air that we breathe, the wonderful family and friends around us. Think about the sun and the rain, the moon and the stars… So even when family and friends turn against us, and we’re persecuted and hated on account of our daily striving to be better, be not discouraged. Every dark cloud has a silver lining. All we need do is try to see it.

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
