THEME: The wisdom of David!

2 Sam. 24:2,8-17; Mark 6:1-6
God forgives us whenever we repent of our sins. David was a perfect example of one who trusted absolutely in God’s mercy. So instead of choosing the punishment that would put him under the power of men and women, he chose that which would directly put him in God’s hands. And God didn’t fail in showing him mercy.

Friends, St JohnBosco found a way to communicate this mercy and love of God to the many young people who attended his evening classes and stayed at his hostels. Being from a poor background himself, he understood just how much the struggle for a better life can frustrate young minds. He even went on to found the Salesian congregation, which today is dedicated to youth ministry. May God put into our hearts, the kind of sincere compassion he gave to Don Bosco, that we may be able to rediscover his loving mercy in every aspect of our lives, Amen.
