REFLECTION FOR WEDNESDAY OF HOLY WEEK.

THEME: THE SCHEMING OF JUDAS

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

Mt 26: 14 – 25.

Whilst the other Disciples were concerned over preparation for the Passover, Judas lost focus, and shrewdly concluded his evil scheme to betray his Master over a paltry sum. When locked in the prison of betrayal I feel fragmented and broken. It’s worse if the betrayal is dished out by someone I love and trust. I can imagine that Jesus felt deep pain and discomfort when Judas betrayed him. What am I scheming? What negative plans are popping up in my head right now? Am I thinking of getting even with anyone? What impure thoughts am I entertaining? Do I have excessive love for money?

LET US PRAY
Jesus my Lord, I ask pardon for not being faithful to you, and for using my intelligence awkwardly. Forgive me for causing those I betrayed to suffer anger, sadness and separation. Whenever I seem to be loosing my bearing please redirect my footsteps in the path of truth, loyalty and love. Extract the spirit of betrayal from my life and replace it with sincere love. Amen.
