REFLECTION FOR TUESDAY WITHIN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER. (2)

REFLECTION FOR TUESDAY WITHIN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER.

THEME: RECOGNIZING THE RISEN JESUS.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

Jn 20: 11-18.

Mary focused on her tears and the empty tomb, so she didn’t at first recognize the Lord. However, her weeping stopped and she recognized the Lord when her name was called. Jesus knows me by my name. He knows everything about me. Telling her not to hold on to him is not a statement of rejection, but an invitation for her, me, and all of us, to let go of his humanity and look to the divine, and love him as such. Have I also seen the Lord? When? Where?

LET US PRAY.
Risen Lord, give me eyes of faith to hear and see you in my neighbours. I have also had reasons to cry for different things in life, and you showed up at the end. Please give me the grace to tell others that I have seen your goodness, mercy and compassion. I am grateful for being able to share in some of your divine attributes like love and mercy. May I use the spiritual power you have given me to the greater glory of your name.
