REFLECTION FOR TUESDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I. (1)

REFLECTION FOR TUESDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I.

THEME: THE LORD OF THE SABBATH.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

Mk 2: 23 – 28.

Jesus shows me that human need takes priority over ritual custom. The Sabbath is set apart to celebrate the goodness of God. It is for good, not evil. God is delighted to see me practice love and kindness on the Sabbath and everyday. Do I place law and tradition above human need, love and charity?

LET US PRAY
Thank you Lord Jesus for the rhythm of work, rest and relaxation. May I see the Sabbath/Sunday as a day to experience your love, to praise you and to love my neighbours. Be by my side, be my voice, be my defence, and speak for me as you spoke for your disciples when they were netted for their faith by the overbearing Pharisees. Amen.
