REFLECTION FOR THURSDAY OF THE 6TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I.

THEME: WHAT IS MY IMAGE OF GOD?

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

Mk 8: 27-33.

Jesus did not need any validation from anyone. He knew his great, glorious, and majestic identity. He simply wanted to ensure that the disciples have full grasp of his divine nature. Peter’s correct answer made him to uncover more the window of his impending self sacrifice. Like Peter I also feel that Jesus does not deserve to suffer any form of pain whatsoever. Am I ready to endure the crosses of life for the sake of Jesus? Do I realize that being a dedicated Christian is not an immunization against suffering and pain? What is my image of God?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I cannot do anything without your power. I am totally dependent on your mercy and love as I struggle with the challenges of life. I implore you o giver and Creator of life and goodness, to grant my prayer for a divine encounter with you, so that I can have a stronger and unwavering faith. You are the director and chief planner of my life. Do with me as you will. Amen.
