Reflection for the 2nd Sunday of Advent Year C

Theme: PREPARING FOR CHRIST COMING

Reflection for Sunday December 5 2021

Luke 3:1-6.

I can also be the John the Baptist today when through my preaching and lifestyle I call people to change from their unpleasant way of life. But more importantly is that I should strive at personal holiness and perfection. This is what the Advent season requires of me. I need to straighten my manner of twisting the truth. The valley of vices in my life must be filled with baskets of virtues. My high mountain of pride and arrogance must be levelled to the standard of the humble Christ who chose a poor virgin for a mother. The rough ways of my undisciplined life and lack of charity must be smoothened with a firm resolution to embrace a positive change. What spiritual exercises am I doing in preparation for Christmas? Do I see the season of Advent as a call to prepare and wait?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus Christ, give me the spiritual strength I need in order to know and understand the Advent season as a period of joyful preparation and waiting for your coming. Come and fill the valleys of my life with your presence. Lower my mountain of trouble and give me peace.
