Reflection for the 1st Sunday of Advent Year C

Theme: THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS

By: Sr. J. K. Osiyemi, EHJ

Reflection for Sunday November 28 2021

Luke 21: 25-28,34-36.

Jesus gives a forecast about his second coming. The description seems frightening kind of. I must be ever ready and on the watch. Jesus loves me. He wants me to be among the saved. He gives me useful tips. I must not let myself be drowned in the cares of this life. Jesus wants me to be watchful at all times, and to pray for spiritual strength. In what way am I prepared for the Lord’s coming this Advent? Am I awake to the injustice and spiritual sloth in the world?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, teach me to know that no forecaster can adequately predict your second coming. Help me to be attentive to what really matters for my salvation. May I be found ever ready to welcome you in my life. During this Advent season may I be awake to, and aware of your presence in my life. Amen.
