REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I. (1)
REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I.
THEME: THE CALL.
BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.
Mk 2: 13 – 17.
Jesus is welcoming and accomodating. He wants the best for those around him. He sees the potential in people, hence he chooses the least expected. He qualifies the unqualified. He calls me daily despite my unworthiness. I am a sinner. I am far from being virtuous. I am sick. I need you Doctor Jesus. How am I answering God’s call to love that so called “bad” student, staff, the well-to-do but spiritually empty neighbour, the lonely elder, the poor and sick etc?
RELATED: HOMILY FOR SATURDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I
LET US PRAY
Help me Lord Jesus to obediently follow the inspirations you give to me daily. Teach me to reach out, love and accept those who are irritable to me for they too are your creatures. Forgive me for questioning your wonderful deeds in the lives of those I have labelled as ‘underserving of God’s favour’. Thank you for summoning me daily to walk in your path when I read the Scripture or listen to homilies. Bless all those you have called to serve you in the priesthood and religious life. Amen.
