REFLECTION FOR MONDAY OF THE 5TH WEEK OF LENT.
THEME: SIN NO MORE
BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.
Jn 8: 1-11.
Being able to notice the adulterous sins of others is supposed to evoke in me a sense of empathy, and desire to pray for the offender. But when I build tent with people of selfish and self-righteous mentality I will have the guts to ask Jesus if he approves of me stoning those ‘allegedly’ caught in the act. Am I harsh and untruthful in talking about other people’s affairs? Am I quick to judge and condemn others? How do I express gratitude to Jesus for the forgiveness of my sins?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I thank you for saving me. I implore you to deliver me from spiritual adultery which causes me to seek solution to life’s challenges from wrong quarters. Forgive me for condemning others for sins I am also guilty of. Give me a sense of justice to always remember that it takes two to tangle, so I should never be one sided. Give me the grace to foster respect for dignity of persons, and to be empathetic to those who suffer shame and humiliation as a result of gender inequality. Amen.
