REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I. (1)

REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF THE 1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR I.

THEME: FORGIVE MY SINS.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

Mk 2: 1-12.

Jesus loves my actions of faith and that of the people who came to his house when they learnt that he was in town. The value of friendship is portrayed in the four men who made sacrifice and showed love to their paralytic friend who is physically at ‘rest’ but troubled at heart. I also need the support of the faith of others. I beg you Lord to forgive my sins and restore my bodily, mental and spiritual health. Are people drawn to me and delighted when I am back home? To what extent can I go to help my friends? What spiritual paralysis do I need to be cured from?

LET US PRAY
Jesus, what a friend I have in you. Please forgive the sins of anger and bitterness that have paralyzed me from reaching out to others in love and charity. Give me the grace to help lift up my friends when they need me. Let me contribute morally and spiritually to my faith community. Help me to get up from the table of helplessness, pick up my stretcher of faith and confidence and walk into your shelter where life’s burdens are light. Amen.
