Acts 11:1-18; Psalm 42:2-3; 43:3-4; John 10:1-10
“I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. ” These convincing words of Jesus are to stand as our anchor as we begin the working days of this fourth week of Easter.

In the gospel (John 10: 1-10), we continue enjoying the assurance and care of Jesus as the Good Shepherd. Jesus is the gate to the Sheepfold and any Sheep that is ready to listen and obey His voice, He lets in and offers the gift of eternal life. May we not follow a strange voice that leads to perdition.
In obedience to the words of the Shepherd, Peter in the first reading (Acts 11: 1-18) explained to the surprised Jewish Christians how God has welcomed the Gentiles into the Sheepfold just as themselves were welcomed through the power of the Holy Spirit. “When they heard this, they stopped objecting and glorified God, saying ‘God has then granted life-giving repentance to the Gentiles too.’
Dear friends, Peter said of the Gentiles: “I realized then that God was giving them the identical thing he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ; and who was I to stand in God’s way?” Have you ever stood against or been jealous of God’s blessings on your neighbour? Do not be an obstacle to any person’s joy, happiness, or progress.
I pray that as we journey in life today, we will approach the gatekeeper with a contrite and humble heart and ask to open to us the treasures of the Sheepfold. May we open up ourselves and ask in humility that God may send forth His light and His truth to be our guide (Ps. 43: 3). Have a trust-full day!
