Homily for Wednesday, February 13 2019

(Gen 2:4-9,15-17/Ps 104:1-2,27-30/Mk 7:14-23)

My people literally state that, “We all have red saliva within us but prefer to spit out the white”. We are a complex system of mysterious possibilities. We can event unimaginable things, impact in unthinkable ways and transform tremendously.

Unfortunately, sin and the wrong use of freedom can make us act worse than the brute and as cruelly dangerous as the devil. Out of us, Jesus opines, come the most unthinkably dangerous and sinful acts. Fortunately, we have the opportunity, grace and power to say no.

We are fashioned in God’s image and likeness. Like God, we are capable of bringing out useful wonders and charming blessings for humanity. Let us open up to grace, think positively and bring out the best in us. God is our help.

PRAYER POINTS
~For the grace to subdue and tame the evil in us
~For discipline and self control ~That we can bless humanity with the best in us
