Homily for Wednesday April 22 2020

(Jn.3:16-21) Wednesday of the Second Week of Easter

In today’s Gospel we continue with the dialogue between Jesus and Nicodemus. Jesus was trying to tell Nicodemus who He was and His mission. Nicodemus was grappling with the presence and person of Jesus. He was amazed at His teachings and works. He believed Jesus was of God.

It was here that Jesus made that significant statement, “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” It was God’s plan in a nutshell. God cares for us so much. Nothing can separate us from God.

What is needed is our response of loving Him too. With that kind of love, how can we not respond with all our hearts, minds, soul, and strength? We should. It will be the best thing that can ever happen to us.
