*FROM OUR FIRST READING*
In our first reading, we heard how Paul told the people of Athens assembled in the Areopagus, the area of public discourse and discussion, regarding the nature of the pagan worship then carried out by the Greeks in general. Paul came to Athens bringing the Good News of Christ, as he revealed unto those people Who the Lord really truly is. He compared how the people were irrational and folly in their belief in the pagan gods and idols, in their trust and worship of beings that came out from our awe of the nature’s wonders, which were merely reflections of the glory of the true Creator and Master of all things.

*FROM OUR GOSPEL READING*
In today’s gospel reading, Jesus tells His disciples about the significant and special role of the Holy Spirit in the Church after the Ascension. That is, that the Holy Spirit of truth will guide them to all truth. Jesus does not specify that the truth revealed is limited to purely religious matters.

*CONCLUSION*
The truth of the gospel is always inspired by the Holy Spirit and is always opposed to the mentality of the world; just as we see in Jn. 16:8 – “And when he [the Advocate] comes, he will show the world how wrong it was, about sin, and about who was in the right, and about judgement.” Through the Good News, prayer, and the Sacraments, our Lord continues to lavish on us the Holy Spirit, leading us to the complete of truth. This Spirit of truth cannot be received by the “world”, that is why He is always opposed to the common mentality of the world. In all these, we should not grow weary or tired in bearing witnesses for Christ as missionaries in a world filled with falsities.

*BLESSINGS OF THE DAY*
May the Risen Lord, our Saviour, Jesus Christ, our most loving God and Good Shepherd, be with us always, May the Lord help us all to persevere through all the hardships and challenges that we may have to face in this world. May He, the One and only True God bless me especially as i celebrate the day i was born.
*Happy Blessed birthday to me!*
