Homily for Tuesday of the 1st Week in Ordinary Time Year A

Theme: Possess the Jesus stock

By: Rev Fr Joseph Nyarko Asare

Jesus is God and can never lie. He calls us members of His family. We are brothers and sisters of Jesus. Through faith and baptism, we have been made blood relations of Jesus. We are entirely new creation and joint heirs with Jesus after our baptism. We share the DNA of God.

As a result, we are like Jesus for we share same family traits. We are members of the body of Christ and branches of Jesus. We have the Jesus capacity. We can rule, teach authoritatively, command evil spirits to exit and live commendable lives like Jesus.

That which fears Jesus must fear us. That which cannot confront and control Jesus should not be able to confront and control us. We are capable of doing exactly what Jesus did. Interestingly, Jesus says He is ready to make us do greater works than He did.

PRAYER POINTS

~Jesus, we thank you for making us mighty
~For the grace to operate in our highest capacity
~That we can seek the holiness of Jesus
