Homily for Tuesday of Holy Week

It is under debate if a good Christian baptized, confirmed and receiving the Eucharist could be influenced by the devil. Even the one who exercises the powers of ministries. The answer comes in the story of Judas. Judas was one of the executive member of the group. He was the treasurer. He was among those who received the power to expel demons in Matt 10:1. He received communion in the last supper with the Lord. Worst still, from the hand of the Lord Himself.
In the midst of all these, Judas was still remarked by Jesus as being the devil (Jn 6:70). Why would Jesus, who knew the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10) still give Judas His body and blood to eat? Jesus gave Himself to everyone among the group but not all of them were clean, one had already sold his allegiance to the devil – he had already made up plans to sell Jesus. So, instead of receiving light he welcomed darkness, and instead of receiving life, he received darkness. This is always the lot of those who receives Holy Communion in the state of sin. They receive condemnation (1 Cor 11:29).

Dear friend, try to be pure always when u receive the pure food of life!
