Think about how it is when a young man is about to propose to a lady – the expectation; the emotions; the anticipation… One does not just roll out something as important as a marriage proposal to an acquaintance. No way! There must have been a warm and loving relationship – something that makes the proposal not so unexpected. The angel Gabriel came to Mary and greeted her saying, ‘Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you…’ That’s relationship right there! God knew this woman, hence the proposal through the Angel. Friends, think of the many proposals that God would bring us if we had a real relationship with Him. Think of the messages He would send us, the special errands we would run for Him, the mighty works we could accomplish in His name. Today, God is in our midst because Mary said yes. How can we make Christ more present to our families and those around us by our own ‘yeses’ to God in the various aspects of our daily lives? Even when we don’t fully understand His plans and purposes, even when we don’t really see beyond our noses, even when the fog is so thick we can hardly see the way, we must still strive in faith to say, “Here I am Lord, I’ve come to do your will”.
