Homily for the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C

Theme: Forgive your offenders

By: Fr Emmanuel Nwokeji

Homily for Sunday, February 24 2019

In the today’s episode Luke 6:27-38 and lSam. 26:2, 7-9, 12-13, 22-23.

We are called to be radical in following Jesus in other to be true children of our Heavenly Father. A clarion call from doing ordinary things which is human in nature to special things which is divine in nature.

To forgive is divine. Therefore when we forgive those who offend or hurt us, we are exercising a divine virtue which will attract divine protection, divine mercy, divine favor and divine blessing.
David did not allow his human nature to rule him irrespective of all the attempt Saul made to kill him. Rather he paid back evil with goodness.

More so, he was divinely protected, blessed and forgiven.
As we become more generous towards others, may God also be infinitely more generous to us and our family.

Happy Sunday of 7th week in the ordinary time of the year C.
