Homily for the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Year A

Theme: The Christian Vocation

By: Fr. Emmanuel Nwokeji

Homily for Sunday January 19 2020

Our vocation as Christians are not like Government project. Every new government most often abandons the predecessor’s project and begin a new one. Consequently, we have many uncompleted projects which underrate the development of the people.

But, in our Christian religion, our vocation either as married or unmarried ( concerned with the things of God) is continual project of carrying out and bearing witness to the mind of God.

Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world as pointed by John. Jesus came not to carry out new project or abolish the existing project of God the Father via prophet and the law but to continue its perfection.

People are pointing at me and you always. If we are pointed with one of the true images of Christ we are in continuation with the project of God, if not reverse is the case.

Jesus is the lamb of God, freedom personalized who frees the burden (sins) of the world.
May Jesus continue to free you and our families from all burden.

Happy 2nd Sunday of the ordinary time of the year.

Fr. Emmanuel Nwokeji prays for you and your family.
