Homily for the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C
By: Fr Emmanuel Nwokeji
Homily for Sunday July 28 2019
Prayer is part and parcel of all creatures especially human beings. This prayer is conversation, communication or communion between Divinity and humanity. Thus, it is a dialogue. Abraham was presented as an intercessor, go-between between God and the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham persists and persistently persisted in breaching the gap created by sins of Sodom and Gomorrah with God through his constant intercession.
Jesus on the request of his disciples taught us how to pray. Jesus came from above and have seen the father. He knows the best method of praying and that he has given us. God is our father. Therefore, all the baptised are his children. If all have common Father, we should love and seek for the good of the other because we are fraternally connected.
As we call God father, who is the owner of the earth and has right to declare his Will to all Creatures as pleases to Him and not to us, may his reign and will be our portion and be done respectively in our lives and families.
Happy Sunday 17th week in the ordinary time of year C. Fr Emmanuel Nwokeji is with you.
