HOMILY FOR SATURDAY AFTER ASH WEDNESDAY.
THEME: The sickness called sin!
BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese).
Isaiah 58:9-14; Luke 5:27-32
Sin is a disease. Yes! Not just of the soul, but also of the body. Oppressing others, insulting them, refusing to give from what we own, doing all manner of evil things in secret, refusing to break evil habits, not respecting the Sabbath…These can knock us out completely. Yes!
RELATED: HOMILY FOR SATURDAY AFTER ASH WEDNESDAY
Friends, today Jesus calls us as he called Levi (Matthew). Let us make efforts to heed as Levi did. We need to move away from the rot that is eating us up. We need to vomit the evil seed of sin. Jesus sees our diseases, and he wants to heal us. He’s just the right doctor for us. Let’s heed his call. We can only be better for it.
Good morning dear. God bless your weekend. It’s election day in Nigeria today. Go out and vote with your consciences. Vote competence, vote character!
