HOMILY FOR MONDAY OF THE 4TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR A.

THEME: TAKE COURAGE!

BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)

Heb.11:32-40; Ps.29:20-24; Mark 5:1-20.

Today, the Psalmist tells us to take courage, since we hope in the Lord. In the first reading, we read about the example of those who though weak, were made strong to stand steadfast even in the midst of gruesome torture and persecution, though they still didn’t see the promise. How much more we who have been fortunate enough to have known Jesus?

Friends, we may face trials and tribulations, but we cannot afford to lose hope. It is time to be delivered of the anger and bitterness against those who frustrate our genuine efforts at witnessing; those ‘demons’ that bind us to feelings of malice, hatred, and violence. Today, Jesus tells us as he tells the demoniac; “go home to your people and tell them all that the Lord in his mercy had done for you.”

Good morning dear. God bless your week ahead.
