Homily for Monday of the 32nd Week in Ordinary Time Cycle I

Theme: Wisdom for Righteousness!

By: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)

Homily for Monday November 8 2021

Wis.1:1-7; Luke 17:1-6

It takes simplicity of heart and sincerity of intention to attain true wisdom; the kind that leads to righteousness. In the same way, we are called to love God with this simplicity of heart, and a sincerity of purpose. For if we aren’t led by God, we cannot hope to reprove those who go astray, nor forgive those who are sorry for wrongdoing. Wisdom encourages us not to put God to the test, neither should we live in distrust of Him.

Friends, in the struggle for righteousness, we must endeavour to be helpers of one another, correcting one another as brothers as sisters running in the same race. Though trials are sure to come, in today’s Gospel reading, Jesus Christ places a curse on those by whom they come. We must not become stumbling blocks in the path of the salvation of others. When we gain divine wisdom, it becomes easier to attain compassion; it becomes easier to forgive those who have hurt us, as many times as possible. This is how wisdom for righteousness is achieved. Are we ready to do this?

Good morning dear. God bless your week ahead.
