Homily for Monday of the 15th Week in Ordinary Time Cycle II

Theme: IT’S HIGH TIME WE MATCHED OUR RELIGIOSITY WITH GOODNESS

By: Rev. Fr. Jacob Aondover ATSU

Homily for Monday July 13 2020

READINGS: ISAIAH 1:10-17, PSALM 50, MATTHEW 10:34-11:1

“Wash, make yourselves clean,
take your wrong-doing out of my sight.
Cease to do evil; learn to do good.
Search for justice, help the oppressed.
Be just to the orphan,
plead for the widow. (Isa. 1:16-17).

It’s high time we stopped deceiving ourselves by pretentiously living as the Christians we are not.

It’s high time we started being good to those around us and stopped comouflaging: being present at daily Masses, contributing to every Church project, paying tithes, making offertories, saying long but pharisaic prayers yet very evil and wicked.

It’s high time we, the many supposed Christians in today’s world lived righteously and lovingly. If we gave a cup of cold water to the orphans, widows, poor and oppressed; God will be pleased with our offerings, prayers and sacrifices.

It’s high time we built a better world together by shunning evil and doing good always.
A blessed working week ahead I pray. Amen

DO FEED THE POOR AROUND YOU
