HOMILY FOR 4TH MONDAY IN LENT — YEAR A
HOMILY THEME: BEHOLD I CREATE NEW HEAVENS!
BY: Fr Oselumhense Anetor
Isaiah 65:17-21, Ps. 30:2,4-6,11-13, John 4:43-54
Today’s readings continue the laetare (joyful) theme of yesterday. In the first reading, God creates new heavens and a new earth. Former things are forgotten. Gladness and rejoicing comes to Jerusalem, no more sorrow, and no more weeping; death at infancy is banished, and fruitfulness fills the earth.

Similarly, in the gospel reading, the official who begs Jesus to save the life of his child has his prayer granted due to his great faith. Friends, as the season of Lent gradually winds up, God invites us to have faith, seek good and not evil, that we may be raised up, and come to share in the new creation of God. Like the official in the gospel, we must believe that Jesus has the power to save us; he has the power to change our mourning into joy. Are you yet to take this Season of Lent seriously? You can begin anew today!
Good morning dear. God bless your week ahead.
