HOMILY FOR 4TH FRIDAY OF LENT — YEAR A
HOMILY THEME: THE LORD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKENHEARTED!

There will always be those who do not see the point of holiness. And I’m not talking about ‘eye’ or ‘lip’ service holiness. I’m talking about the deliberate striving to live and act right, to treat people with love and fairness… Wisdom says, the Godless are blinded by their malice, they fail to see the things of God, they have no hope that holiness will be rewarded. Too bad!

Friends, Jesus did his best. He spoke the truth, he treated people right, especially the poor, the needy and the sinners. But what did he get in return? Malice and wickedness! Many indeed are the trials of the just man. But from them all, the Lord will rescue him. Hence, though we may be tired of being the only positive voice in the room, though we may feel battered and frustrated, we must remember that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. Holiness has a reward. We must not be discouraged by the many who live without the fear of God. Deep down, they know their lives are empty. We must take a stand for good, and keep holding!
Good morning dear. God bless your weekend ahead.
