HOMILY THEME: THE SON OF MAN IS COMING AT AN HOUR YOU DO NOT EXPECT

BY: Fr Deotacious Chikontwe SMA

Eph 3:2-12; Psalm (Isaiah 12); Luke 12:39-48

FROM OUR FIRST READING
In our first reading, Paul talks about the mystery of God’s plan. This plan includes both Jews and Gentiles. It shows that God’s love is not limited to one group but is meant for everyone. God calls all people to be part of His family.

LIFE MESSEGE FROM OUR FIRST READING
This message reminds us that God’s grace is available to everyone, regardless of background. It also challenges us to see others as part of God’s plan, even if they are different from us. We should be open to building unity and welcoming others into the faith.

FROM OUR GOSPEL READING
In our gospel reading, Jesus speaks about a faithful and wise servant. This servant is responsible for taking care of others and making sure they are provided for. Jesus teaches that leaders must act responsibly and faithfully in whatever role they are given.

LIFE MESSEGE FROM OUR GOSPEL READING
Leadership can take many forms in our lives. Whether we are parents, teachers, or in charge of others at work, we are called to lead with care. Being a faithful leader means acting with integrity, serving others, and being trustworthy.

CONCLUSION
We can apply what we have heard today to our lives by showing love to all people, knowing that God desires everyone to come to Him. Just as God reached out to all through Jesus, we should reach out to those around us with kindness and understanding. This helps us to live out God’s larger plan in our daily lives.
Finally, Jesus reminds us that leaders will be judged on how they fulfill their responsibilities. This encourages us to reflect on how we serve others in our own lives.

Have a blessed Wednesday everyone. May the almighty God be with You!
