HOMILY FOR 24TH THURSDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR B
HOMILY THEME: Her many sins have been forgiven, or she would not have shown such great love
BY: Fr Deotacious Chikontwe SMA
1 Corinthians 15:1-11, Ps. 118:1-2, 15-17, 28, Luke 7:36-50
In our first reading today, Paul talks about how God’s grace has made him who he is. Paul was once far from God, but God’s grace worked in him and made him a dedicated follower of Christ. Paul knows that without God’s help, he wouldn’t have been able to change.

FROM OUR GOSPEL READING
In our gospel reading, tells the story of a woman who seeks forgiveness from Jesus. Her sins were many, but she believed that Jesus could forgive her. Jesus did not turn her away, but instead, He forgave her and showed her mercy.
Jesus’ response teaches us that no sin is too great for Him to forgive. Often, we might feel that we have done too much wrong, but Jesus shows us that all we need to do is come to Him with a sincere heart. If we ask for forgiveness, we will receive it.
CONCLUSION
Dear friends, we should never be afraid to approach Jesus when we have sinned. His mercy is always greater than our sins. Like the woman in the Gospel, we can find peace and healing in His forgiveness.
By trusting in God’s grace, we are reminded that it is not through our strength that we change but through His. We are not alone in our journey of faith. God is always ready to help us grow, if we are open to His grace.
May God bless you and give you a Blessed Thursday.
