Daily reflection for Wednesday of the 5th Week in Ordinary Time Cycle II

Theme: INWARD FOCUS

By: Sr. J. K. Osiyemi EHJ

Reflection for Wednesday February 9 2022

Mk 7: 14-23.

I must focus inward and purge myself of the sins of the mind. I earnestly desire to be delivered of the tendency to revenge, lie, backbite, gossip, bribe, waste time, etc. These vices are defiling and they are great stumbling blocks to my spiritual progress. They must be thrashed away. Purity of intention is a key factor if I want to grow spiritually. Do I know my vices? What effort am I making to eradicate them?

LET US PRAY
Dear Jesus, cast into the deepest part of hell the evil influences lurking inside me. Grant me the grace and the strength to fight the battle against my personal limitations and weaknesses. Grant that I may have the courage to distance myself from things, persons and places which poison the soul. May I bring forth from within me patience and goodness which are the result of a faith filled life. Amen.
