DAILY REFLECTION FOR TUESDAY OF THE 28TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II.

THEME: CLEAN INNER MINDS

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

REFLECTION FOR TUESDAY OCTOBER 11 2022

Lk 11: 37 – 41.

In the city of my heart should reside inhabitants such as love, goodwill, patience, mercy, joy, peace, gratitude etc. The saying that cleanliness is next to Godliness holds true at all times. But more importantly is that the state of my soul should always be spic and span. What makes me unclean are envy, gossip, pride, malice, etc. Do I overemphasize and exaggerate routine and outward show of piety rather than inner sincerity and holiness of heart? Does the letter of the law mean more to me than the spirit of the law?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, you are real, in touch and down to earth. Let me know that I can freely give smiles, forgiveness, truth, justice etc, as alms. As much as I strive to look good by taking care of the outside (what people see), help me to make efforts towards cleansing my heart so as to look good before God who alone sees what is inside? Wash my heart with the soap of love, care and affection. Sanitize my hands with your precious blood, and strengthen me so as to keep social distance from gossips and character defamers. Give me a sincere, clean, warm, and pure heart. Let my thoughts towards others not be laced with evil intent, but with goodness and love. Amen.
