Daily reflection for Thursday of the 5th Week in Ordinary Time Cycle II

Theme: FAITH AND HUMILITY: KEY TOOLS FOR EFFECTIVE PRAYER

By: Sr. J. K. Osiyemi EHJ

Reflection for Thursday February 10 2022

Mk 7: 24-30.

Jesus is understanding, merciful and kind even though his words today appeared fussy to me, but not to the Syro-Phoenician woman. She saw Jesus’ response as an opportunity to press on and to express her faith even deeper. Jesus hears my prayers when made in faith, and steeped deep in humility and patience. Do I persevere in prayer? Do I care for the well-being of others? Am I patient and humble? Do I have a persistent faith in Jesus?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I know that I do not deserve the mercy and favour you have freely given me to be your child and to feed from the Eucharistic table. Thank you for doing many wonderful things in my life. Increase my faith in you and help me to be prayerful, patient and humble. Give me an unshakeable faith in your healing power. Drive out from my world the devil of anger and arrogance. Amen.
