DAILY REFLECTION FOR THURSDAY OF THE 29TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II.

THEME: DIVISION CAUSED BY TRUTH.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

REFLECTION FOR THURSDAY OCTOBER 20 2022

Lk 12: 49 – 53.

When light is separated from darkness there’s resistance and struggles, but Jesus’ fire cleanses finely. His fire destroys impurity. When I am set on fire for God, that is, when I am burning with zeal to follow the way of the Lord, not everyone want to identify with me. Have I ever experienced the family conflict that results from divided opinion on religious matters? Do I sometimes compromise my faith so as to have ‘peace’?

LET US PRAY
Dear Lord, give me firmness, deep inner conviction, courage and strength to stay strong in my choice of you even when others despise me. Fill me with your peace as I follow you trusting my values and beliefs. Refine my spirit with grace, and refill my flesh with the desire for mortification. Let the fire of your energy be enkindled in me so that I can passionately follow you. Amen.
