DAILY REFLECTION FOR THURSDAY OF THE 15TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME CYCLE II

THEME: COME TO ME

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ

HOMILY FOR THURSDAY JULY 14 2022

Mt 11: 28 – 30.

Life is an ongoing encounter with anxieties and challenges. It is never smooth all the time. I must be careful where I stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. I also must be wary of where I seek for comfort and consolation. It is only in Jesus that I can find peace, rest and comfort in times of loneliness, hardship and work overload. Do I know that Jesus’ burden is light? Do I run to him when fagged out and tired? Do I relieve my neighbours of stress, or do I double their trouble? Can I imagine the depth of Jesus’ meekness and humility?

LET US PRAY
Thank you Lord Jesus for coming to me in confidence, for giving me comfort and joy. Thank you for the many reassuring messages and words of comfort presented to me in the scriptures. Help me also to lighten the task of others when they need my assistance. Amen.
