Daily reflection for Thursday of 1st Week in Ordinary Time Cycle II

Theme: CLEAN MY HEART O LORD

By: Sr. J. K. Osiyemi EHJ

Reflection for Thursday January 13 2022

Mk 1: 40 – 45.

With fervent sincerity the leper asked for divine intervention for his rotten physical and spiritual condition. After being healed he could not hold it as instructed by Jesus. His joy knew no bound. When I’m joyful about the Lord’s goodness to me, do I proclaim it? Do I realize the power and miracle of comforting solace that I give when I touch and pat those who are sick and sad?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, you did not mind dirtying your clean hands in order to heal the leper. Touch, and heal my brokenness and sinfulness. Heal me of the leprosy of stinginess and backbiting. Oh yes! You can. Make me clean in thoughts, words and actions. Thoroughly cleanse my soul when I go for confession. Touch me as you touched the leper so that I can feel your mercy and compassion. Help me to know that I must continually testify to the Lord’s goodness in my life. Help me to also know that you can speak to me through any person or situation. Protect all my healthworker friends as they touch and care for the ailing. Amen.
