Daily reflection for Thursday after Epiphany

Theme: THE MISSION STATEMENT OF JESUS

By: Sr. J. K. Osiyemi

Reflection for Thursday January 6 2022

Lk 4: 14 -22.

Jesus is an active participant in the reading and the teaching of the scripture in the Synagogue. He reads to me today the portion of the scripture that tells of his mission statement; his sort of manifesto for the work ahead of him. The Holy Spirit has an active role to play in this task. Jesus came to set people free not only from their infirmities, but from the worst affliction of all – the tyranny of slavery to sin and Satan. I am lucky to be among those Jesus came to save. Am I fulfilling my mission? Are my words gracious and civil?

LET US PRAY
God our Father, help me to know my purpose on earth and to do it according to your will. Make me a true Missionary in my praying, giving and going. Bless me abundantly with spiritual graces as I endeavor to reach out to the poor, the broken hearted, the blind, and the bruised through my apostolate. Let me bring your good news to those I meet and help them to see God in all things. Amen.
